A Girl Like Me Network® was created with one mission at its core: to uplift, empower, and support girls and young women who deserve to be seen, heard, and valued. What began as a small community initiative has grown into a powerful nonprofit movement dedicated to mentorship, education, leadership development, STEM exposure, and emotional support.
From the beginning, our focus has been on creating safe spaces where girls can learn, grow, and build confidence. Over the years, we’ve expanded our programs, partnerships, and outreach, but our heart has never changed. We are here to help every girl realize that she is capable, worthy, and unstoppable.
Today, A Girl Like Me Network® stands as a trusted resource for families, schools, and communities across Missouri and beyond. Our work continues to evolve, but our purpose remains the same: to empower the next generation of strong, confident, and resilient young women.

A Girl Like Me Network® was founded by Amby Lewis, a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and advocate for youth empowerment. With a deep passion for community impact and a lived understanding of the challenges young women face, Amby created this organization to fill a gap she saw firsthand — the need for mentorship, guidance, and emotional support for girls navigating life’s toughest moments.
Amby is a multi‑business owner, award‑winning community leader, and a woman who has turned her own experiences into a platform for change. Her work has been recognized across Missouri, and her leadership continues to inspire girls, parents, and community partners alike.
Through A Girl Like Me Network®, Amby has built a legacy rooted in compassion, empowerment, and real‑world transformation. Her belief is simple: when you pour into a girl, you change her life — and when you change her life, you change the world.

One‑on‑one and group mentorship that helps girls build confidence, set goals, and develop healthy life skills.
Interactive sessions focused on self‑esteem, leadership, communication, mental wellness, and personal development.
Programs and activities that introduce girls to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands‑on learning, real‑world exploration, and opportunities to see themselves in STEM careers. We aim to close the representation gap by showing girls that they belong in every room — including labs, tech spaces, and innovation fields.
Resources and assistance for girls and families facing challenges such as bullying, low self‑esteem, academic struggles, or emotional stress.
Collaborations with schools, youth organizations, and community groups to bring empowerment programming directly to students.
Annual events, community drives, and empowerment gatherings that bring girls together to learn, connect, and celebrate their growth.
